MEng in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering with International Study, University of Strathclyde, 2014-2019.

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, 2017-2018

PhD in Underwater Robotics, University of Edinburgh, 2019 – 2023.

Kyle’s research is focusing on the control of underwater vehicles to assist in performing station keeping in shallow water. The aim of his research is to utilise advanced control theory or variable stiffness soft robotic manipulators to effectively counteract wave and current induced disturbances, to assist in operating and maintaining offshore renewable technologies and increase the viability of deploying such technology. His interests cover a wide range of topics including marine robotics, model predictive control, soft robotics, wearable robotics and biomimetics.
