Description

Soft robotics is a recent exciting trend of robotics, taking the challenge of using soft materials and deformable structures for building robots, with high potential for impact in science and in applications. Given the young and fast growing area and the lively interdisciplinary community that grew around soft robotics, the RoboSoft international conference aims at presenting recent progresses in this field, for discussing new science, new technologies and new opportunities for applications.

Submission instructions

Prospective authors are invited to submit high-quality full 6-page papers representing original results in all areas of soft robotics. Submission page will soon be set up at the IEEE RAS PaperPlaza. RoboSoft 2018 provides authors with two options to present their paper: Podium Sessions (12-minute oral presentation + 3-minute Q&A), or Interactive Sessions (1-minute plenary teaser + Interactive presentation (poster/video/demo)).
Tutorial and workshop proposals are called for half-day and full-day. Tutorials and workshops will be held on April 24, before the conference technical program.
Proposals are also called for teams wishing to challenge themselves and their soft robots in locomotion and manipulation tasks, showing their resilience, their capability to pass through small apertures, their ability to move on uneven terrains and their capability of dexterous manipulation. The competitions will be held on April 28, after the conference technical program, and will be open to public.
